Gentofte Ungdomsskole (Youth School) consists of several departments with unique areas of expertise. In addition to our educational offers to young people in secondary school, Gentofte Ungdomsskole also provides optional educational and leisure activities for young people between 13-18 years as well as formal educational guidance in Gentofte for young people up to 25 years of age. Everything we do is with the young person as the focal point.

We succeed in:

* Educational guidance • High quality leisure activities. In broad cooperation with our youth network in the municipality 

* A very dynamic approach, where we "push the envelope", so that we can succeed in the best possible way for and with all young people. We would like to improve: 

* Practical expertise in learning - in practice • International youth activities 

* Educational end leisure activities in the “twilight zone" between school and spare time - in collaboration with other youth organizations, schools and others.

Leisure -educational activities: 

* A collection of activities for all young people between the ages of 13 and 18. 

* During August – December 2023, Gentofte Ungdomsskole offered a total of 41 different “classes”. 

* 27 classes were created and approx. 400 young people participated in leisure -educational activities during a year. The most popular classes are currently ceramics (craft), cooking classes and Japanese.

* The junior high school participates in the EU -funded Erasmus+ network and inter -municipal working group on practical skills. We seek opportunities for new international collaborations and focus on practical expertise in school and leisure.

International strategy (extract): 

The school's international strategy has four main objectives: 

* To strengthen young people's personal development and experiences with action through cooperation. They must experience that it is useful to get involved and participate. 

* To give young people the best possible conditions for democratic education and insight through collaboration. 

* To give young people the opportunity to have an international outlook and insight into social, political, economic and cultural framework and conditions for young people in other countries. 

* To establish communities and an experience of cohesion across borders - and thus contribute to breaking down prejudices and stuck patterns of action.
